May 2015 Newsletter

I am more of a photojournalist, and I specialize in that style of photography in both my weddings, engagements and lifestyle sessions. My overall approach is trying to be that “fly on the wall” photographer that catches you living in the moment and enjoying the ambiance. There is nothing that I’m not willing to try.

Throughout the day, I’m a full time middle school mathematics teacher! I love my job, and I love teaching a subject that most people don’t enjoy. This helps me with my photography because most people don’t like taking photos either, and this provides me a working set of experiences to pull from when I’m getting the best out of my clients for their images. I have my Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from the University of North Florida and my Masters in Educational Leadership from Grand Canyon University.

July - Forever Faithful Ministry Horse Ranch

Perhaps nothing can compete with color as a tool for creating mood in a photograph. Cool colors (blues and greens) can make your viewer feel calm, tranquil or at peace. Reds and yellows can invoke feelings of happiness, excitement and optimism. A sudden spot of bright color on an otherwise monochromatic background can provide a strong focal point. How you use color can dramatically change a viewer’s perception of an image. Pay attention to the colors in everyday scenes and use them according to what you want your viewer to feel when looking at your image.
